FAQs
01.
How long have you been a photographer? How did you get started?
Since I was 4 years old and professionally for the last 15 years.
When I was four my dad gave me a disposable camera. He tells me how serious I was with it and how much fun I had. I used them up very quickly and he would go out and get me another. Because of how often I needed a new one he eventually got me a small point and shoot Olympus camera. I would go through roll after roll mostly capturing the clouds or flowers. Maybe the corner of a roof. I spent many summers as a teen at the Maine Media Workshops and later moved onto college. And have been a photographer ever since.
02.
Are you LGBTQIA+ friendly?
Yes! Love is love. Let me capture yours!
03.
Are we a good fit?
The best way to know is to just send me an email, make a coffee date or set up a time to chat about your wedding day or any other session you want to do. Let’s connect and make sure our personalities fit well and that we are on the same page and can effortlessly create amazing things together.
04.
What are the steps to booking you?
Yay! I am so excited. Once we figure out the right package for you, I make up a contract with all the details, you, your honey and I all sign along with a 50% non-refundable deposit. I also want to be involved (as much as you want me to) in all your plans, including your venue walkthrough, timeline creation, and other vendor coordinations.
05.
Is it possible to see a full gallery?
Of course! Shoot me a message and I’ll send over a full online gallery from one of my recent weddings or one that would be similar to your day.
06.
Where can I read your reviews?
I have more here and if you want to see a whole bunch more check out my profile on The Knot.
07.
Can I customize a package to better fit my needs?
Of course! Send me an email and we will work together to create the ideal package.
08.
Do we need a second photographer?
While I love photographing alone it is great to have a second photographer if you want coverage of the two of you at the same time, different angles and just well-rounded coverage, especially if your guest list is over 100 I would definitely recommend a second photographer.
09.
I contacted you, but haven’t heard anything?
I make a great effort to always respond with 24 hours unless otherwise stated on the form. If you still haven’t heard from me I’m probably traveling so just shoot me an email at JessieFelixPhotography@gmail.com with your date and location in the subject and I will be sure to respond as soon as I can.
10.
Do we get printing rights to the images?
Absolutely! You have full rights to your images that are in your final gallery. I do however have a few clauses in the contract stating that you can’t claim them as your own work or sell them for profit. I also spend so much time perfecting your images that I ask that you do not alter them for social media.
11.
How many photos will we get and how long will it take for us to receive them?
I hand select the best of the best images from the whole day and deliver them in an online gallery where you can download the hi-res file. For weddings, you can expect between 500-800 depending on the package in 6-8 weeks. For portrait sessions and engagements, you can expect up to 120 photos in 2-3 weeks.
12.
I don't live in Maine, will you travel?
I LOVE to travel! My bags are packed and my passport is up to date. Near or far I am there with very minimal travel fees.
13.
Do you do elopements?
Yes! Get in touch with me about your elopement. So we can plan an amazing adventure together! And make sure to ask if the location is on my bucket list for special pricing.
14.
Do you shoot with a Digital camera or Film?
I mostly shoot digital. I do offer 35mm and medium format film packages for smaller weddings and sessions, elopements and especially, boudoir.
15.
Do you carry business and or equipment insurance?
I do! I have insurance for all my equipment as well as liability insurance through Lockton Affinity. Just give me a heads up if your venue needs a Certificate of Liability and I can get it over to you or your planner.
16.
Do you have backup equipment?
I do. I carry several camera bodies, lenses, and flashes. And a boat load of extra batteries, chargers and memory cards. Everything is backed up in two locations.
17.
Can you Photoshop that?
I wish it was that simple! I do a very minimal edit, color correction, exposure, straightening, and contrast. I am a purist at heart, to stay true to the moment while making the colors pop and give depth to the images. I spend numerous hours making your images the best they can be. I am happy to do further editing on a case by case basis. If you want extensive corrections it is $5 a photo.
18.
What equipment do you use?
Digital Camera Bodies: 2 Canon 5D Mark IV's and 1 Canon EOS R
Film Cameras: Hasselblad H1, Mamiya 645 and a Canon AE1
Lenses: Canon 50mm L f/1.2, Canon 24mm L f1.4, Canon 100mm L 2.8 Macro, Canon 85mm L 1.4
